Dakota Hotel based in Manchester are seeking an experienced restaurant waiter with leadership skills for the role of Restaurant Supervisor. 

Dakota is a growing UK-based lifestyle brand with five locations, known for our stylish hotels, bustling brasserie Grills and upscale cocktail Bars. Dakota’s story started with two boutique hotels on the outskirts of Edinburgh, in South Queensferry, and Glasgow, in Eurocentral. We have now expanded into prime city centre locations in Glasgow, Leeds, and Manchester.

Dakota is synonymous for delivering attentive and genuine guest service. We attract hard-working individuals who are passionate about working to the highest standards.

CONTRACT AND REWARD

Earnings are £12.10 per hour, paid weekly equating to a minimum guaranteed gross annual salary of £25,150. 

The role carries a permanent contract of a minimum of 40 hours per week and shifts will vary, working any 5 days out of 7.

Dakota Hotel based in Manchester city centre is centrally located in the Piccadilly Basin, situated on Ducie Street, close to Piccadilly Station ideally located for public transport users.

Our luxury hotel opened in May 2019 and has been awarded by the Caterer three years in a row as one of the top 15 places to work in hospitality.

We are home to 137 luxury bedrooms, including 27 suites - the most in the city, a destination cocktail bar with champagne room, and a brasserie style grill with private dining rooms as well as a spectacular terrace.

PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support management in supervising and providing direction to our restaurant waiting team, ensuring the highest standards of service provision at all times.
  • Implement training plans and deliver on-the-job training to drive the smoothest, most polished levels of service.
  • Carry out knowledge and wine training and work to continuously improve the teams’ knowledge to better enhance the guest experience.
  • Support the commercial running of the restaurant operation including approving rota hours and placing orders.
  • Have a hands-on approach to service and hosting, driving standards at all times.
  • To have a comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage menu options to be able to offer guests recommendations, including understanding the allergens present.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

The successful applicant will have/be:

  • At least 3 years’ experience working in a full-service, high-end restaurant and/or bar
  • At least 1 years experience training others in a Bar or Restaurant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of wines and wine pairings with dishes is essential.  
  • Experience in running services and carrying out cash up.
  • Ability to work at pace and be physically active for the duration of your shift. 
  • Willing and able to pour, serve and sell alcohol.  
  • An enthusiastic individual who will promote our culture of positivity.
  • Be task oriented with a great pride for the work they do and attention to detail.
  • Flexible with shift patterns and available around the needs of our business.
  • Successful candidates must demonstrate having researched our brand and a genuine desire to be part of our team.
