D&D Summer School - 3rd August - 6th August 2021
D&D London is a group of diverse restaurants, bars and hotels based principally in London, but also with venues in Paris and New York. It was founded by Des Gunewardena and David Loewi (the eponymous D and D) in 2006, following a buyout of Conran Restaurants. Since then the company has become a vital player in London’s famous restaurant scene, owning some of the capital’s most celebrated restaurants, including Quaglino’s, Le Pont de la Tour, Bluebird and Coq d’Argent.
We are looking for superstars to join the group and support them to forge a fantastic career in this wonderful industry.
On Tuesday 3rd August we are hosting a 4 day Summer School for those with little or no experience within hospitality but have passion and a desire to succeed. This 4 day training program will allow you discover and learn from some of the best in the industry. At the end of the week you will be interviewed and potentially be offered a place in one of our many award winning restaurants.
Taking place at celebrated 100 Wardour Street in Soho, attendees will be paid during the training. All learners will receive an introduction to hospitality, and D&D as a brand, as well as time dedicated to prepare them for working in one of our venues.
· For the coveted BOH course learners will train in food safety, basic knife skills, allergens and hygiene standards. Classic cookery skills including pasta making, bread and how to prepare the perfect omelette from celebrated D&D chefs, as well as enjoy on-site masterclasses to gain an insight into working in a professional kitchen.
· Participants of the Bar course will learn the fundamentals of these roles as well as the industry in general and will be trained by industry leaders. Some of the world’s leading drinks brands including Diageo, Asahi, Pernod-Ricard and Nyetimber will have ambassadors leading workshops – providing participants with expert advice and allowing them to gain a competitive edge. Those training will also learn the fundamentals of bar training, safety sessions and will enjoy drinks masterclasses.
· Learners on the FOH will participate in sessions on providing excellent service, the importance of teamwork as well as masterclasses from top brands as well as senior D&D London servers. They will be given an insight into the art of front of house as well as an appreciation for the role it plays in an overall restaurant experience.
