The Dog & Fox

Location: Wimbledon Village, London

Salary: Competitive + bonus + progression opportunities

Ready to run your own show… just not quite yet?

We’re on the hunt for a high-performing, people-loving, food-obsessed Manager to join us at The Dog & Fox — one of Wimbledon Village’s most iconic venues.

This isn’t just another management role. This is your launchpad to General Manager within 12–24 months.

If you’ve ever thought “I could run this place better myself”… we’d like to hear about it.

What makes this role different?

You’ll get the backing of a bigger company (structure, support, career development, stability — the good stuff)…

…but with the freedom to actually run the business like it’s your own.

No endless red tape. No “computer says no.”
Just smart decisions, great hospitality, and the autonomy to make an impact.

The Role

You’ll be a key leader in a high-volume, premium pub with rooms, working alongside an established GM while preparing to step into that role yourself.

Expect to:

  • Lead and inspire a large, diverse team

  • Deliver exceptional fresh food and service standards

  • Take ownership of P&L, labour, and operational performance

  • Drive guest experience like it’s your personal reputation on the line (because it kind of is)

  • Be visible, hands-on, and never afraid to jump in when it gets busy

What we’re looking for

You might already be:

  • An experienced Deputy Manager / AGM / Operations Manager in a premium pub, restaurant, or hotel

  • Or a current manager ready for that “next big step”

You’ll definitely have:

  • Hotel or rooms experience (this is important)

  • A strong background in fresh food operations

  • Confidence managing a large team in a fast-paced environment

  • Commercial awareness (you know your numbers, not just your Negronis)

  • A genuine ambition to become a General Manager within 1–2 years

What you’ll get

  • A clear pathway to General Manager

  • Real autonomy to shape the business

  • Support, training, and development from a well-established company

  • Competitive salary + bonus

  • The chance to run one of the most loved sites in Wimbledon Village

The vibe

We work hard, we care a lot, and we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

Yes, standards are high.
Yes, it gets busy.
Yes, you’ll occasionally solve problems you didn’t expect when you woke up that morning.

But you’ll be part of a team that genuinely enjoys what they do — and a business where your ideas actually matter.

Sound like you?

Apply now and tell us why you’re ready to take that next step.

Because the only thing better than working in a great pub…
is running one.
