Ecommerce at The Newt

The E-commerce & Retail division is a revenue-generating part of the business which is behind developing, promoting and growing The Newt in Somerset as a fine-quality food & beverage brand. Offering a best-in-class experience is of upmost importance. This is achieved through a full vertically-integrated consumer proposition and operation which offers tight quality control across all phases of product delivery.


Our Digital Marketing Executive

You will be responsible for creating an inviting, branded experience within the Ecommerce website - ensuring our products are brought to life through brand storytelling, seasonal content and engaging and up-to-date product information and photography. 

There will also be a focus on driving revenue through upselling products by using tactical promotions to increase average basket size or conversion. You will support in the creation of email, PPC and paid social campaigns, to attract new customers to the brand.  

 

You will use web analytics to monitor engagement on site, store navigation and ease of use, with a focus on-onsite search and information layout to help customers find what they are looking for and move them further down the purchase funnel, ensuring a seamless user experience. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with a creative team on digital content. Taking ownership for planning and briefing asset creation for editorial and promotional content and its delivery across different areas of the website, email and digital advertising.
  • Ensure products are both strategically and attractively merchandised across prime locations on the website to maximise sales.
  • Manage cross-selling and up-selling opportunities, monitoring the success of these using a test-and-learn mindset.
  • Manage website navigation, products categories and attributes, coordinating SEO requirements with the marketing colleagues.
  • Project managing new product launches online – ensuring all product data, photography, packaging and printed collaterals are delivered for website, email and advertising channels.
  • Translation of positive customer trends identified in our retail stores onto the online channels and vice versa.
  • Perform competitor analysis into best-practices and opportunities in improving customer experience and efficiency of digital merchandising and marketing.
  • Support a wider marketing team with ideas for product selection and merchandising of seasonal and ad-hoc marketing campaigns across all channels.
  • Provide regular summary reporting with insightful commentary on opportunities, challenges and promotional performance across Ecommerce website and digital marketing.
  • Raise purchase orders and manage invoicing with suppliers 

Skills and Experience

  • Experience within an Ecommerce environment, with a strong understanding of visual merchandising, website taxonomy and usability
  • Experience in creation of marketing assets for multi-channel use
  • Experience in working with agencies
  • Fluent and comfortable working with content management & ecommerce systems
  • Experience using Google Analytics for insight
  • Effective communicator with ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams around the business. Able to communicate with stakeholders fluently and diplomatically.
  • Understanding of fundamental basics of digital marketing
  • Knowledge and passion for the luxury gifting or farm food market is preferable
