About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and driven Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join our Food & Beverage team at Eden Hall. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in leading our dining operations, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and driving service standards to new heights.

As Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you will support the Food & Beverage Manager in overseeing all aspects of the restaurant’s day-to-day operations. From motivating and developing your team, to ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, to maximising sales and profitability – you will be at the heart of maintaining and enhancing Eden Hall’s outstanding reputation.

In addition, you will be required to undertake occasional Duty Management shifts, acting as the senior point of contact for the site, supporting all departments, and ensuring a seamless guest experience across the spa.

Key Responsibilities

People

  • Lead, motivate, and support your team to deliver exceptional service.
  • Develop and manage team performance through structured training and development plans.
  • Conduct inductions, appraisals, and ongoing training to build confidence and capability.
  • Foster a culture of trust, respect, and open communication.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and oversee scheduling and leave requests.
  • Support the wider operation of the business during occasional Duty Management shifts, ensuring interdepartmental communication and guest satisfaction

Quality

  • Maintain the highest standards of food, service, and guest care.
  • Uphold Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure staff are fully trained in them.
  • Personally engage with guests, ensuring memorable experiences and positive feedback.
  • Oversee hygiene, safety, and compliance standards across all Food & Beverage areas.
  • Proactively suggest improvements and innovations to enhance the guest experience.

Results

  • Support with budgets, forecasts, and sales targets to drive performance.
  • Monitor stock, costs, and waste, ensuring financial control.
  • Develop and implement promotions and initiatives to increase revenue.
  • Analyse performance reports and take action to continuously improve results.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, licensing laws, and health & safety legislation.
  • Carry out risk assessments, inspections, and regular deep cleaning schedules.
  • Promote a safe working environment for staff and guests at all times.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are upheld across all departments when covering Duty Management shifts.

About You

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality (restaurant, hotel, or resort preferred).
  • A natural leader with strong communication and people management skills.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Committed to delivering exceptional guest service.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
  • A proactive and results-driven mindset.
  • Confidence to act as Duty Manager on an occasional basis.

Shift Pattern:

  • 5/7 days a week including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
  • 37.5 hours contract
  • Full flexibility is key as you will be expected to work as and when necessary to meet the needs of the team and the business, including occasional Duty Management shifts.
