More about the role:

The role of the Deputy General Manager Manager is to effectively manage the day to day running of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional levels of guest care are consistently delivered and all administrative duties are carried out in line with brand standards.

You will be part of the Senior Management team and report to the General Manager. The contracted hours are 45 per week on an annual average (meaning some weeks you may be required to work more, but others you will work less), inclusive of dedicated admin time to complete all necessary tasks. 

You will play an active role in management and departmental meetings, taking ownership for departmental performance, alongside the department manager, by implementing action and delivering positive outcomes. You will be developing future managers by coaching and mentoring those that report to you to prepare them for their own career progression. 

You will be responsible for:

Service Delivery

  • Acting as Duty Manager ensuring all company processes and procedures are followed

  • Ensuring the restaurant both internally and externally is prepared, presented, and maintained in line

    with Fazenda brand standards

  • Leading and running successful shifts through strong preparation, organisation, shift briefings,

    motivation, and leadership

  • Maintaining and enhancing the reputation of the business by ensuring the highest standards of

    products and service are delivered to guests

  • Creating and nurturing a culture of productivity and interdepartmental harmony

  • Fully knowledgeable of the duties and responsibilities associated with all roles and departments within

    the restaurant

  • Assisting during service through leading by example, being present, delegating and providing continuous support and feedback to team members

Team

  • Leading and inspiring the team by continually role modelling Fazenda behaviours

  • Managing and motivating the team to meet and exceed expectations in their roles

  • Developing key team members with potential to progress within the business through talent planning,

    matching aspirations, and ability to business needs

  • Coaching and developing the skills and behaviours of Assistant Managers and Heads of Department

  • Organising and delivering engaging and effective training for both on the job and classroom style

    training sessions

  • Maintaining effective team levels across all departments. Where gaps exist, supporting with attraction and recruitment processes including sifting, screening, and interviewing candidates

  • Leading an inspiring onboarding experience for all new starters and ensuring all departmental training is successfully and appropriately delivered

  • Assisting with the management of performance and behaviour of all team members in line with company policies and procedures

Operations

  • Taking full responsibility for the management of the restaurant in the absence of the General Manager

  • Managing the guest relations team ensuring all guest feedback and complaints are handled in a timely and appropriate manner

  • Leading, organising and coordinating weekly/monthly management meetings and cascading important business updates and information

  • Ensuring full compliance with people and finance processes including invoicing, banking, stock management, people systems and training

  • Ensuring maintenance, health and safety and environmental issues are handled correctly in consultation with the appropriate business leads

  • Ensuring all areas of the business are compliant with audit and EHO standards with any non- conformity dealt with in an appropriate time frame

  • Communicating all necessary information to the team, ensuring everyone is well-informed and up to date

Business Performance

  • Working alongside the General Manager and the Relationships and Events Manager to promote and market the business

  • Driving the delivery of key performance indicators in relation to sales, operating efficiency, and profitability

  • Carrying out any other tasks reasonably requested by the General Manager and other Head Office support teams

  • Analysing the performance of the restaurant with a view to continuously improving the operation, sales, and profitability of the business
