Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Accountant directs the financial accounting and planning for the company. Additionally, this position handles all reporting of financial information including budgets, planning, and required filings to both internal and external parties.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

DAILY:

  • Send out daily cash report to investors and leadership team.

WEEKLY:

  • Responsible for the weekly performance report for investor and internal audience
  • Reporting the key operational KPI’s for the business
  • Analyzing the past and future trends and the variances
  • Supporting the leadership team with timely, accurate and reliable information for decision making.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE:

  • Responsible for working with and guiding accounts payable clerk managing all vendors and making sure all invoices are properly recorded and reconciled on the accounting system.
  • All the payments are made on time by check or ACH.

MONTHLY:

  • Responsible for the monthly closing process, reconciliations, and consolidations.
  • Reconcile and control for all balance sheet accounts, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, fixed assets, prepaid insurance, payroll, debt and equity.
  • Calculate the food costs (COGS) and make sure that they are properly recorded and accurate.
  • Analyze the cost variance to identify the key factors, price, or performance.
  • Record payroll and accruals when necessary.
  •  Record all the expenses, such as delivery expenses, rent, utilities, insurance, corporate expenses, making sure that they are accurate, on the correct period and location.
  • Develop fluctuation analysis between actual vs budget, vs prior month and vs prior year.
  • Report the Financial statements to the investors and leadership team within 2 weeks after the end of the month.

ANNUALLY:

  • Coordinate the budget process communicating governance guidelines to get faster information to consolidate and report results.
  • Map and monitor all action plans to make sure they are aligned with the strategic plan.
  • Compare with previous year and analyze the key metrics.
  • Develop the board presentations containing all the financial analyses and goals for the year.
  • Performing research and analysis as required. Monitor closely the Key operations and financial metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
  • Friendly, approachable, and customer service oriented.
  • Sense of urgency and able to work in fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work as a team-player.
  • Ability to work approximately 45 of hours per week; able to work flexible hours as necessary.
  • Great attitude and willingness to learn!
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in Accounting and/or Finance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort with entire Microsoft Suite.
