Temple Bar Hotel Dublin is seeking a passionate and motivated Commis Chef to join our culinary team at our vibrant four-star property, located in the heart of the city.

You will report to the Head Chef and Sous Chef and work closely with the wider kitchen and Food & Beverage teams to ensure the consistent preparation and delivery of high-quality dishes for our guests. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their culinary career in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of breakfast and other meals as required, maintaining the hotel’s high culinary standards.

  • Follow instructions from senior chefs to support the smooth running of the kitchen.

  • Ensure that all food is prepared to specification and presented consistently.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your work area in accordance with hygiene and food safety standards.

  • Support with stock rotation and reporting of any shortages or issues to senior chefs.

  • Participate in cleaning duties as part of the kitchen team to ensure compliance with HACCP and hotel standards.

  • Assist in receiving and storing deliveries correctly.

  • Follow all Health & Safety, Fire, and Hygiene regulations.

  • Be proactive in learning and developing culinary skills through daily tasks and training opportunities.

  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude with colleagues and other departments.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary setting is desirable but not essential – training will be provided.

  • A strong interest in food preparation and a desire to learn.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (HACCP certification is a plus).

  • Reliability, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic.
