Lead Café Manager
As the leader of the shop, it all begins and ends with you. Lead with compassion, honesty and strength. Role model all behaviors required of your team. Appearance and composure is important, as your team will follow your lead when in shop.
Requirements are as follows:
Team:
1. Source, interview, onboard and schedule training of all new hires.
2. Complete new hire training tasks and activities including food assembly, cleaning and all things drink prep.
3. Communicate and collaborate about all training progress with Senior Management team via slack
Environment:
1. Be responsible and accountable to manage all aspects of the cafe This includes troubleshooting any and all problems within the 4 walls of the business.
2. Lead the team with clear communication of tasks with timely follow up and feedback.
3. Maintain a cleaning schedule - daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly tasks clearly
4. Maintain relationships with vendors - be the point of contact in the shop.
5. Schedule all preventive maintenance for equipment - adhering to a maintenance schedule.
6. Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks such as burr cleaning, gasket and filter changing, as well as communicate any equipment issues with the team. If equipment is faulty follow up with Senior Management with immediate action.
Communicate coffee and drink QC via slack:
1. Be a leader and conduit for all coffee information including general coffee knowledge as well as Felix specific coffee information.
2. Meet with “coffee team” monthly or bi-weekly to taste new coffees (and roast profiles) and beverages, discuss rollouts and QC.
3. Be a role-model Felix Roasting Co leader at all times, exhibiting all things discussed in the culture handbook.
4. Collaborate and help in the development of the wholesale and retail-training program.
5. Once possible, start executing off-the-floor cuppings, ongoing F&B training with staff.
Maintain the schedule for the shop:
This will include moderating all requests and changes. Schedules need to be posted two weeks in advance for proper notification of all employees.
Understanding labor percentages and the impact of scheduling is key to a healthy growing environment. Weekly updates with the Senior Management team via slack.
Uploading and monitoring all invoices in the system:
The Cafe Leader is responsible for all invoices being uploaded in a timely manner and approved for payment. Ongoing communication with Senior Management via slack.
