Description

Stamford Bridge Hotel is seeking a Hotel Accountant to play a key role in managing the financial relationship between the Management Company Finance, the Hotel General Manager and the Hotel Departments.

You will report to the Hotel General Manager (HGM) supporting the Hotel General Manager and Management Company Finance team in all aspects of Property accounting, ensuring timely and accurate submissions of information and helping to uphold a high standard of internal control and compliance.

As Hotel Accountant you will be responsible for:

  • Purchase ledger coordination with outsource providers and suppliers to ensure queries are resolved.
  • Works with the Hotel Accounts Assistant to ensure all Accounts Receiveable invoicing is issued on a timely basis.
  • Supports as back up to reconcile/receipt accounts including cash, credit card and BACS to the respective PMS system
  • Provide month end deliverables to the Finance stakeholders in accordance with agreed timetable, including preparing and loading of month end journals, schedules of accruals and prepayments, bank reconciliations and supporting files and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Loading of monthly results into the Chelsea FC finance system and reporting systems
  • Assisting stakeholders in the preparation and detailed analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual results.
  • Posting and reconciliation of Inter company related recharges
  • Tracking and monitoring of Capex spend against budgets
  • Assist and support in the hotels vat liability calculations
  • Assist and support in the hotels various audits both operational and financial 
  • Ensure that  daily checks of previous day’s night audit packs are undertaken to check for discrepancies in auditing and reports
  • Manage the annual budgetting process and quarterly forecast for the hotel for both the owner (Chelsea FC) and the Operator (Ascott) across their various systems

To be successful in the role of Hotel Accountant we require:

  • In-depth knowledge in a similar accountant role, ideally within the hotel sector (desirable)
  • Completed or studying for a accounting qualification such as ACCA or CIMA or other equivalent qualification (required)
  • Knowledge of hotel property management systems  (desirable)
  • Pro-Active problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and be able to stick to strict deadlines
  • Organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
