Flat Iron Chip Kitchen

Description

At Flat Iron, we're all about remarkable steaks, accessible to everyone, and driven by passionate people who love what they do.

Exciting times lie ahead for Flat Iron as we continue to grow. Our key to sustained growth is retaining happy, developing, and engaged teams. People are the heart of our operation, and we're deeply committed to fostering a workplace culture that's nothing short of remarkable. As part of this commitment, we're looking for a Production Line Leader to join our Central Production Unit (CPU).

This is a hands-on leadership role, working closely with the team on the production floor to deliver safe, high-quality food to our restaurants. You'll lead by example, helping your team achieve production targets while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality and teamwork. If you're an organised and motivated leader who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and taking pride in producing remarkable food, we'd love to hear from you.

Working pattern
• Primarily Monday to Friday
• Some flexibility required to support occasional weekend production needs

Shift patterns
• AM Shift: 7:00am – 3:00pm
• PM Shift: 3:00pm – 11:00pm

What we offer you:

• Flat Iron Discount
• Cycle to work scheme
• Enhanced Maternity, Paternity and Adoption leave
• Development opportunities as we continue to grow
• And more!

We are looking for:

 • A positive and approachable leader who enjoys supporting and developing a team
• Calm, organised and solutions-focused, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
• A strong communicator who can motivate, coach and engage others
• Experience leading a production line or team within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment
• Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, GMP and quality standards
• A hands-on approach and genuine pride in producing remarkable food

Here's what you'll get up to:

Team Leadership – Lead and motivate the production team on shift, allocating labour in line with daily production plans and supporting colleagues to deliver output, quality and efficiency targets.

Food Safety & Quality – Take ownership of food safety and quality standards on the line, monitoring Critical Control Points, maintaining accurate records and ensuring products consistently meet specification.

Health, Safety & Hygiene – Champion safe working practices and drive high standards of GMP, hygiene and housekeeping, keeping the production environment clean, compliant and audit-ready.

Production Performance – Run shift briefings, monitor line performance and complete production records, escalating issues relating to yield, waste, downtime or quality when required.

Equipment & Troubleshooting – Support the smooth operation of production and packing equipment, carrying out basic fault finding and escalating maintenance issues when necessary.

Continuous Improvement – Work closely with the Production Manager to identify opportunities to improve processes, performance and ways of working across the production line.

New Product Development – Support the introduction and growth of our new cook-chill sauce production line, helping to embed new processes, standards and ways of working.

Our commitment...

We celebrate differences and welcome people from all walks of life, each bringing their own unique story. At Flat Iron, it's not just about fitting in, it's about standing out and being proud of who you are. If you need any adjustments during your application journey, just let us know,  we're here to help.
