June 2026 – September 2026
Taking a gap year or simply want a temp job.
Looking to earn great money, build real‑world skills, meet brilliant people and have stories worth telling when Uni starts?
If stacking shelves isn’t your vibe, we’ve got you.
Set in the picturesque village of Alfriston, our beautifully redesigned 38‑bedroom, 14th‑century hotel sits where the South Downs meet the Cuckmere River.
We’re home to The 1554 Brasserie, Godfrey’s Bar with a sunny garden terrace, The Orangery for breakfast and afternoon tea, plus a stunning events space. Add in our luxury spa with a heated outdoor pool, sauna and steam room, and you’ve got a pretty amazing place to work. Plus we've got free parking as well!
Historic, stylish and full of atmosphere – not a bad way to earn your pay! Speaking of pay- our Tronc is about £3,500 per year if you work full-time, or pro rata that for part-time.
This isn’t just a stop‑gap. It’s a confidence‑building, CV‑boosting, memory‑making experience you’ll carry well beyond your gap year.

That means:
- Serving delicious food & drinks with confidence
- Creating warm, welcoming, memorable guest experiences
- Chatting with guests and working alongside a high‑energy team
- Thriving in a fast‑paced, social, feel‑good environment
No experience? No problem.
If you bring the enthusiasm, we’ll teach you the rest.
- Are full of energy and enjoy meeting new people
- Want to gain confidence, independence and transferable skills
- Love working as part of a fun, supportive team
- Want a job that feels social, not same‑same
- Take pride in looking polished, friendly and professional
