Founders Table is looking for an experienced, driven, and detail-oriented individual to fill the Construction Project Manager role at Founders Table. This position is a key player on the Development Team and drives the planning, execution, and delivery of new restaurant openings (NROs) and capex projects for both our growing brands: Chopt and Dos Toros. This role is based in NYC and will report directly to the SVP of Development. The Construction PM will work closely with the other functions of the Development Team (Real Estate, Design, and Facilities), while collaborating with the wider business on construction activities, timelines, and deliverables..
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage new restaurant construction, project timelines, and budgets
Oversee the general contractors and owner-direct vendors as they execute construction
Drive all construction activities to ensure completion of projects on-schedule and on-budget
Travel to project locations for ongoing site visits with contractors and vendors including overnight trips as necessary
Maintain, forecast, and update all construction project budgets and invoices
Manage procurement to ensure the timely delivery of materials to meet the overall construction schedule
Establish, maintain, and develop relationships with General Contractors and owner-direct vendors
Ensure timely receipt and filing of all project closeout documentation, including Tenant Improvement Allowances
Communicate with the development team and wider organization on construction activities, budgets, and timelines for cross-functional project coordination
QUALIFICATIONS
A strong customer service attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial construction management, preferably as an owner's representative in the retail or hospitality industry OR as a tenured project manager for a commercial GC.
High sense of urgency and ownership, taking accountability of deadlines and budgets.
Obsession for details and knowing that it's only "done" when all small items are closed out.
Deep knowledge of building and accessibility code and experience managing health inspections in multiple regions.
Experience managing multiple projects at once in various stages of development.
Excellent negotiation skills to have Founders Table’s interests first.
Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel; experience with G Suite (Google Drive, Docs, etc.) is a plus
Degree in architecture, construction management, engineering, or any related field of study a plus.
