The Role
As a receptionist, you'll be the first point of contact for our valued guests. You'll have a detail-oriented approach to every interaction, while being courteous and enthusiastic, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guests. You will thrive on delivering exceptional customer service, expertly handling guest inquiries and ensuring a seamless check-in and check-out experience, all through the night.

Responsibilities include

  • Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing guest inquiries and requests 
  • Work closely with the reservations, housekeeping, and F&B to ensure a smooth guest experience 
  • Maintain accurate and organised records of guest reservations, cancellations, and guest preferences while assisting with administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry and reporting
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of room types, hotel facilities, and local attractions (including the Bodmin Jail Attraction) 
  • Handle guest check-in and check-out procedures efficiently, including the issuance of room keys, payment processing, and providing necessary information 
  • Confirm room availability and provide accurate information on rates, packages, and special promotions
  • Assist guests with special requests, room preferences, and any concerns they may have, working closely with reservations team and resolve booking-related issues or discrepancies professionally and courteously 

Required Skills & Experience 

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Previous experience in hotel reservations, front desk, or customer service is preferred
  • Experience with a hotel reservation system and booking software (desirable) 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
  • Flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
