Description

Do you secretly critique the photos on your friends post on social? Does finding new ways to tell a story through images, video and graphics excite you? Then grab your camera; we need you.  

Front Burner Society has a Passion for People and we are looking for a passionate graphic designer/photographer intern who loves using creative strategy to create experiences through a digital medium. As our designer/photography intern, we encourage you to bring your enthusiasm about design and photography to shape and build our digital libraries for some of the most innovative hospitality brands. Social media continues to develop at great speed; and as our afficionado of the digital world, you should have a point of view that emphasizes the brand experience. 

Now that we have your interest piqued; here’s what you need to know:

Responsibilities

  • Designing & developing custom digital design needs through the use of photography, video and other digital mediums
  • Maintaining a brand/imagery standard for projects
  • Retouch and manipulate images
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop design/photography images for social
  • Preparation of files for digital solutions
  • Manage and organize photographic brand libraries
  • Adhere to brand guidelines and complete projects according to deadline

Requirements

  • Knowledge of how to use a Nikon Camera
  • Use Adobe Cloud InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop to create a wide variety of media
  • Effectively communicate with team members throughout designs/photoshoots, edits, and revisions
  • Ability to take creative direction and incorporate feedback
  • Self-starter, takes initiative. Be able to build a website from the ground up. (design & build at the same time a plus)
  • Detailed oriented
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid ability in both written and verbal communication
  • Able to develop ideas and processes and clearly express them

Experience and/or Education

  • Graphic Design/Photography major 
  • Basic knowledge of layouts, typography, color, and other graphic design fundamentals
  • Experience with InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator (Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Strong creative and analytical skills
  • Organized, dependable and detail oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Compelling portfolio of graphic design and photography work
