Who we are:

The Tap Bar is the beating heart of The George in Rye. You will be working alongside an experienced group of managers who will be able to mentor and develop your skills. At the George, our front of house team is encouraged to interact with our guests, creating an informal and relaxed surroundings. The team is passionate about customer service, has an excellent knowledge of the cuisine and works seamlessly with the kitchen, resulting in a fun and supportive environment.

After a two-year refurbishment, The George in Rye is set to re-establish itself as one of the leading restaurants and hotels in the South East. Having set the standard for boutique coaching inns 15 years ago, a new version of this iconic hotel will emerge this Spring from its original founders - come and be part of one of the most anticipated openings this year.

We are located in the heart of the idyllic medieval town of Rye, in between Ashford (Kent) to the east and Hastings to the west – by the sea next to Camber and its white sandy beaches.

The George in Rye is a local family-owned business with strong links to the community. We are committed to sustainability and buying local. Our guest charitable scheme (matched pound for pound by the hotel) raises thousands for good causes.

The George in Rye is proud to be an equal opportunities workplace that seeks to recruit, develop and train the most talented people from a variety of backgrounds, perspectives and skills. We therefore encourage applications from all genders, races, religions, ages and sexual orientation, as well as parents, students, people living with disabilities, and any other groups that could bring diverse perspectives to our business.
