Restaurant Manager

Description
WHO:
We need a strong Restaurant Manager who’s great with people, knows their food and service and can lead a close-knit Michelin star team.

THEY SHOULD:
- Be a hands-on manager who leads from the front
- Be knowledgeable about food and drink and good at developing others
- Be personable and engaging
- Have natural rapport and be able to strike up relationships with our guests
- Have an eye for sales and help develop the business
- Encourage a strong working relationship between front of house and kitchen staff
- Be organised, motivated and take ownership of the department
- Pro-actively recruit, train and develop a team that show passion and commitment
- Have management experience in a similar environment
- Be confident working in a 50 cover fine dining restaurant within a country house hotel
- Have a basic understanding of wine service
- Love the countryside!

WHERE:
Set on the upper reaches of the River Teign, the 24-bedroom Gidleigh Park enjoys an exquisite location on the very edge of Dartmoor National Park in Devon. With 5 AA red stars, and a member of Relais & Châteaux, Gidleigh Park is widely recognised as one of the best hotels and restaurants in the UK, and can offer learning and development opportunities few others can.
The hotel offers both on and off-site staff accommodation, in order to help the newest members of the team re-locate and settle in. There is a putting green, tennis court and croquet lawn to help pass the time on your days off too!

WE WANT WORK TO BE A PLEASURE
We’re a people business — our success relies on the skills and happiness of every one of our team. That’s why we invest in your training and development and promote from within. We depend on your personality and enthusiasm for hospitality… and we offer all sorts in return. We must be doing things right — we were recently awarded AA Hotel Group of the Year.
We can offer careers across our collection of hotels ... or just a great place to work locally. For some senior roles, we may look for relevant experience, but for other jobs we just want the right character and attitude — we’ll teach you the rest.

AND…
Our team are entitled to tasty discounts on food and drink, as well as preferential rates at our hotels for themselves, friends and family. They can also take advantage of High Street discounts via our bespoke employee shopping website, as well as childcare vouchers, a cycle to work scheme, and various other performance-related perks.
Our Employee Assistance Programme is on hand to provide personal help and support if and when it’s needed.
