Description
Goldex Fitness Gillingham opened in April 2022 and is proud to be the only gym and fitness studio in Gillingham town centre. We offer a full range of strength and cardio equipment and a separate studio for classes.
Main Job Role: To ensure the gym is open and operating with full service offerings (tours, inductions, classes, PT’s) each day. To work with the Multi Site manager to ensure optimal service is being achieved in line with company standards.
The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for an experienced; energetic; motivated and hardworking gym supervisor to oversee see a great group of team members and run gym operations day-to-day with high lever guidance from multi-site and senior management.
Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Gym Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will:
- Manage an energetic and hard-working team;
- Implement new strategies communicated by Multi-Site Manager and ensuring that we offer the same high level of service each day.
- Draft staff rotas for approval by Multi-Site Manager. Ensure Gym Supervisor rotation in the month to oversee different staff and members
- Welcome people into the gym and interact with members on the gym floor to build rapport;
- Assist with managing sign-ups and membership administration using our gym software (Gymflow);
- Assist with outreach and play an active part in recruiting new members e.g. promote gym facilities, services and promotions;
- Daily/weekly cleaning schedule;
- Lead inductions for new gym members to ensure safe use of machines;
- Active role in advising on and overseeing studio classes and personal training;
- Ensure all staff are health and safety trained; first aid trained; understand their duties; are carrying out their duties diligently; complete paperwork properly; understand the opening and closing procedure; have read and understood the Company Handbook and understand how to use and continue to receive training on gym management software. Act decisively and without delay if duties are not being fulfilled.
- Monitor Team Member studio classes and PT sessions to ensure standards are high.
- Promotions, Fundraising, Marketing, Outreach: Assist Multi-Site Manger with planning marketing campaigns for the year and promoting them in the gym.
- Responsible for weekly/monthly checks – fire, etc.
Experience:
- Level 3 Personal Training Qualification
- Level 2 Personal Exercise Qualification
- First Aid Qualification (desired)
- Management experience
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, exercise physiology, and nutrition
- Excellent communication skills and work ethic
