Description

We are looking for the next generation of Managers who are passionate about the hospitality industry and progressing their career to join our team. As a  Restaurant Supervisor, we expect the usual stuff on a day-to-day basis, helping to run your site in style and supporting your management team to meet site targets and team goals. In return our senior management team will invest time and energy towards helping you to push your career to the next stage, whatever that looks like for you.

Grind is a hospitality company that lives in London. Since opening Shoreditch Grind in 2011, the brand has expanded across London with restaurants and café-bars, burning the candle at both ends to serve coffee, food, and cocktails to a killer soundtrack.

To be eligible for this role, you will need to demonstrate confidence in leading the Front of House floor team. You must drive service and sales, and be the constant face of energy and passion on the floor! 

We expect previous experience in restaurant management, strong experience in supporting a busy team, and a 'work with the team' approach/attitude at all times. The role is 35+ Hours and Weekend availability is essential.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Lead FOH shifts, setting the pace and standards for service

  2. Support managers to achieve sales, labour and COGS targets

  3. Oversee opening and closing procedures, including cashing-up and EOD reporting

  4. Train, coach, and onboard new team members

  5. Manage sections, seating and waitlists to maximise covers and guest flow

  6. Uphold brand standards: product quality, cleanliness, H&S and allergen compliance

  7. Resolve guest issues confidently and escalate when appropriate

  8. Coordinate smoothly with bar and kitchen to maintain ticket times.

  9. Ensure compliance with company policies and licensing requirements

Skills Required:

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Possess excellent communication skills to enable effective dialogue with colleagues and customers
  • Ability to work well under pressure and use initiative
  • Ability to problem solve and escalate complaints accordingly
  • Dedicated team-player, who strives for excellence and leads by example 
  • Strong time-management and prioritisation skills
  • Barista or Cocktail Bartender Experience and advantage.
