Grind is a coffee company that lives in London. Since opening Shoreditch Grind in 2011, we've expanded across London with cafés, coffee trucks and a state-of-the-art coffee roastery.
Our cafes and coffee shops are the beating heart of Grind, they are where it all began. We're a bustling hub in the heart of London's most iconic places, known for serving our specialty coffee and renowned bottomless brunches.
We think coffee can be a force for good. Whether it's through creating the UK's first compostable coffee pods, our plastic-free packaging or carbon-free shipping - we're on a mission to be the world's most sustainable coffee company.
In 2023, we created our charity, the Better Coffee Foundation, to undo the damage done by the global coffee industry - in our first year, we recovered 43 million pods' worth of ocean-bound plastic.
A bit about the role.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Bar Supervisor who enjoys making classical drinks with contemporary twists. Evenings at Grind offer a variety of classics, coffee cocktails and guest cocktails. We’re all about creating a buzzing atmosphere by turning up the tunes, dimming the lights and serving the best espresso martini in London!
We are looking for energetic night owls to join the Grind Crew and as a Bar Supervisor of course we expect the usual stuff on a day to day basis; great service, standardisation and some quality shaking. To be eligible for this role, you will need to demonstrate confidence in supporting a small team in a very busy and high-volume hospitality environment. You must drive sales through supporting the team, and delivering speedy service with passion on the bar! We expect some previous experience working in a bar environment, and a 'work with the team' approach/attitude at all times.
Role responsibilities.
Support the management team in the running of a high volume & fast-paced bar
Possess full understanding of Grind Steps of Service
Deliver exemplary service in line with our procedures
Help to deliver bar training & developing programs to all bar staff
Motivate all staff and project a positive attitude at all times.
To undertake regular team meetings and participate in necessary Management meetings.
To abide by the house rules at all times
Displays a smart and professional appearance, representing the company in a positive manner
You’ll have.
Possess excellent communication skills to enable effective dialogue with colleagues and customers
Ability to work well under pressure and use initiative
Ability to problem solve and escalate complaints accordingly
Dedicated team-player, who strives for excellence and leads by example
Strong time-management and prioritisation skills
