Description
Come join The Halal Guys, the leader (and pioneer) of American Halal Food. Launched 30 years ago as a halal street cart on 53rd & 6th in New York City, our beloved and iconic fast casual brand now boasts 94 restaurants on three continents – with over 400 in development worldwide. In full growth mode, we have just launched a search for a Director of Operations to join our management team at Corporate headquarters in NYC.

Summary of Position

Responsible for providing clear direction and leadership to the general manager and restaurant teams when it comes to living The Halal Guys values, helping the brand to thrive, and growing restaurant sales and profits. Focused on developing people and guest centric culture that consistently delivers excellent guest service and mouthwatering food while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures effective training and development of management and employees, partners with management to identify development needs and implement development plans.
• Ensures operations are in compliance with all state and federal labor laws and regulations. Listens actively to feedback from the field and their team; leads problem resolution.
• Creates and reinforces a guest centric culture, holds area leadership and restaurant teams accountable for continuously delivering on and improving the guest experience by monitoring guest experience reports and consulting with general managers for targeted action plans.
• Empowers management to lead their teams in delivering on all aspects of the guest experience including food quality and safety, employee friendliness, problem resolution, cleanliness, and order accuracy. Travels regularly in the region to observes restaurant operations and the guest experience, recognizes strong performance and provides actionable feedback on areas that are needed.
• Oversees execution and ensures adherence with all company and restaurant systems, procedures, and food safety requirements. Conducts restaurant audits and regularly monitors performance. Educate and consults with managers to ensure their understand of restaurant operational and financial performance, including knowledge of profit and loss statement, ensures report are review each period.
• Establishes a communicated expectation for financial performance and operational execution, ensuring adherence with all company and restaurant systems and procedures. Develops targeted tactics for performance and motivates and inspires teams to achieve desired results.
• Partners with marketing on special promotions or programs to promote THG brand within the region.


Skills
• 7 –10 years of director of operations experience or equivalent position
• Experience managing high sale volume
• Experience managing 100 – 120 employees
• Ability to analyze a supply chain and find risks
• Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work under pressure
• Results Driven
• Familiarity with MS Office and various business software
