Description

Come join The Halal Guys, the leader (and pioneer) of American Halal Food. Launched 30 years ago as a halal street cart on 53rd & 6th in New York City, our beloved and iconic fast casual brand now boasts 94 restaurants on three continents – with over 400 in development worldwide. In full growth mode, we have just launched a search for a Human Resource Manager to join our management team at Corporate headquarters in NYC.

 

Summary of Position

Responsible for supporting and leading the daily functions of the human resources department. Oversee the implementation process for all human resource information systems. Offer effective practices to best streamline human resource management processes. Daily, assist with tasks, included but not limited to employee relations, benefits, workers compensation, recruitment, and employee engagement. Be knowledgeable on local and state laws and enforce company policies. Maintain communication with human resources team and executive leadership on ongoing matters. Have enthusiastic attitude and offer relevant ideas for the organization.

 

Reports To:

Human Resources Director

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the human resources department through effective planning and execution of HRIS. Work closely with external business partners to transition, apply, and update appropriate human resource information.
  • Partner with human resource director and executive leadership on organizational needs. Strategize and set goals for implementation process of new systems.
  • Propose initiatives that will further advance the department’s daily processes. Streamline onboarding, benefits enrollment, and additional functions.
  • Provide support and guidance to human resource generalist, and other staff when necessary and offer reasonable problem-solving solutions.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Education Requirements:

·         Relevant Bachelor’s Degree (Human Resources, Business, Communications, English)

·         Master’s Degree plus


Skills:

·         5 – 7 years of progressive human resources experience

·         Expert Knowledge of HRIS and HRM systems

·         Extensive knowledge of ADP

·         Strong technological background

·         Extensive knowledge of employment local and state laws

·         Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

·         Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·         Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

·         Well versed in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

·         SHRM Certification plus
