Harbour House is set in the magnificent 19th century transit shed on Bristol’s floating harbour, which is rumoured to be once owned and designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel himself as his own private boathouse. Whether it is afternoon tea, family celebrations, after work drinks or a date night dinner, Harbour House delivers excellence throughout every day part all with a personal touch for a home away from home feel. 

Championing the best of the south-west throughout our food menu with emphasis on the finest seafood the region has to offer. All washed down with local craft beers, the finest British wine and an eclectic cocktail menu.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Sous Chef to join our passionate kitchen team.

As Sous Chef you are a vital part of our brigade and will support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen and back of house areas and working alongside a senior team with a Michelin star background.

Your day to day;

- Assisting the Head Chef with effective kitchen management 

- Producing a high standard of food from scratch for all of our menus

- Managing a section in the kitchen cooking from fresh ingredients

- Eliminating wasteful or unprofitable practices

- Ensuring food safety standards are adhered to

- Controlling the order and storage of food supplies

- Being aware of and supporting the delivery of financial targets 


Who are we looking for? 

You should have experience of working with fresh ingredients and cooking from scratch. Having innovative ideas and the ability to implement them is important. Proven previous experience is essential. If you are a team player who is committed to achieving the very best, this could be the role for you.
