Harbour House is a vibrant, premium casual dining restaurant set within a striking 19th-century transit shed on Bristol’s iconic floating harbour. Operating from morning through to late evening, we are a high-cover, fast-paced venue known for delivering quality food and standout guest experiences at scale.


Our menus showcase the best of the South West, with a focus on fresh, seasonal produce and exceptional seafood. From brunch and afternoon tea to high-energy dinner services, our kitchen is driven by consistency, creativity, and attention to detail.


We are now looking for a motivated Junior Sous Chef ready to step up and grow within a dynamic, professional kitchen.


The Role


As Junior Sous Chef, you’ll support the senior kitchen team in delivering smooth, high-quality service across all day parts. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your leadership skills in a high-volume environment while working alongside a team with Michelin-level experience.


Key responsibilities:


  • Supporting the Sous and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
  • Running sections confidently during busy services
  • Assisting with prep, service organisation, and team coordination
  • Maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met
  • Supporting stock control and minimising waste
  • Helping train and mentor junior team members


What We’re Looking For


We’re looking for a chef who is ready to take the next step and build a long-term career in a quality-driven kitchen.


You will:


  • Have experience as a strong Chef de Partie or Junior Sous in a fresh-food kitchen
  • Be confident working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Have a passion for cooking from scratch with seasonal ingredients
  • Be eager to learn, develop, and take on more responsibility
  • Have a positive attitude and strong team ethic
  • Be organised and able to perform under pressure
