Staff Accountant

Hash Kitchen is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our Financial Controller in overseeing key financial operations within our rapidly growing restaurant group. This role will be responsible for managing fixed assets, inventory, and accounts receivable, as well as assisting with accounts payable processes and the recording of daily sales for the Hash Kitchen brand. This is a full time, in-office position based in Phoenix, Arizona.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain the fixed asset register for Hash Kitchen with accurate and timely updates for additions and disposals.
• Assist the Accounts Payable Manager with processing approved invoices in the accounting system and properly processing payments to vendors; ensure intercompany balances are properly accounted for and effectively managed.
• Reconcile and record sales that are imported from the restaurant point-of-sale system.
• Assist the Development team with construction project accounting and ad-hoc development projects relating to purchasing and sale of land, construction costs, and land entitlement.
• Ensure all accounting data is processed timely, reconciliations are current, fixed asset balances and retail inventory balances are within target and facilitate the month-end close process with the accounting team.
• Work with the Brand Controller and Director of Finance as needed.
• Be an active and engaged participant at the table by bringing ideas, suggestions, and solutions.
• Others duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Required: Accounting degree Bachelors or Master’s, or working towards accounting degree
• 2+years of experience working in accounting, specifically in managing fixed assets, inventory and accounts receivable, AP functions, and recording sales
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, specifically Outlook and Excel
• Understanding and working knowledge of accounting software such as Sage and ADP
• Experience with construction accounting a plus
• Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures
• Possess a strong ability to work in a team environment and be able to apply a solid understanding of accounting principles
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data

Required to ascend and descend stairs; sit and stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 30 pounds, bend, stoop and kneel. May be required to work outside in various weather conditions. May be required to work on a computer for extended periods of time, including viewing the screen, using a mouse and manipulating a keyboard with hands, reaching with arms. May be asked to drive or travel by car, air, or other transportation for business purposes. Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced working environment. Must be able to report to work responsive, free from sedatives, and in a non- sedative state.
