Description

Assistant Bar Manager

Since 2006 we have been the UK's home of ethically sourced, grass-fed beef, cooked over charcoal and paired with our award-winning wines and cocktails. We became B Corp certified in 2022 and are the only restaurant group in the UK to place in the Best Companies for 13 consecutive years, meaning we have some of the happiest people in the industry working here! This is alongside raising over £1 million for Action Against Hunger and being rated as one of the most sustainable groups in the country.

As Assistant Bar Manager, you’ll support the Bar Manager in leading the bar team and ensuring every drink and every service lives up to Hawksmoor standards. You’ll combine creativity and leadership with a deep understanding of guest experience, working with the team to deliver an exceptional bar operation that’s full of energy, precision and warmth.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the Bar Manager with day-to-day leadership of the bar team
  • Lead shifts confidently, ensuring drinks quality, service and speed meet Hawksmoor standards
  • Help train and develop bartenders and barbacks through coaching and tastings
  • Manage stock, ordering, and waste to maintain excellent cost control
  • Be a visible, hands-on leader on the floor and behind the bar
  • Deputise for the Bar Manager when needed, keeping service smooth and consistent

Who You Are

  • Experienced as an Assistant Bar Manager, Supervisor or strong Head Bartender in a quality, cocktail-led venue
  • Passionate about cocktails, wines, spirits and creating memorable guest experiences
  • A supportive leader who develops and motivates their team
  • Organised, energetic and confident under pressure
  • Ambitious and ready to progress towards a Bar Manager role

Our Values

  • Keep Evolving – we continue to develop through listening, learning, feedback and new ideas

  • An optional 2 paid days each year to use for volunteering
  • 30 days’ holiday
  • A restaurant welfare budget allocated for healthy snacks, drinks and support during our busiest times of the year
