Description
Sommelier:
Since 2006 we’ve been the UK’s home of ethically sourced, grass-fed beef, cooked over charcoal and paired with award-winning wines and cocktails. We’re proud to be a certified B Corp, one of the most sustainable restaurant groups in the industry, and to have raised over £1 million for Action Against Hunger — all while being recognised as one of the Best Companies to work for, year after year.

As a Sommelier at Hawksmoor, you’ll be at the heart of the guest experience, bringing our wine list to life with warmth, confidence and genuine hospitality. You’ll help guests discover wines they love, support the wider team with knowledge and training, and play a key role in delivering the high standards Hawksmoor is known for.

What You’ll Do
  • Deliver confident, engaging wine service on the restaurant floor
  • Guide guests through the wine list with thoughtful recommendations and pairings
  • Support the Wine Manager with the day-to-day running of the wine programme
  • Share knowledge with the FOH team through tastings and informal training
  • Help maintain cellar organisation, stock control and service standards
Who You Are
  • Experienced as a Sommelier, or a senior FOH team member with strong wine knowledge
  • Passionate about wine and excited to keep learning and developing
  • Warm, approachable and confident talking to guests
  • Calm and organised in a busy service environment
  • A team player who takes pride in delivering great hospitality
Our Values
  • Welcome Everyone – We create warm, inclusive spaces where people feel genuinely welcome.
  • Work Hard and Be Nice to People – We set high standards and treat each other with kindness and respect.
  • Hit Hawksmoor Standards – We care deeply about quality and consistency, every day.
  • Keep Evolving – We stay curious, open to feedback and always looking to improve.
Benefits
  • 30 days’ holiday (including service charge)
  • Free staff meals on shift + 50% off when dining with friends and families
  • Paid overtime on salaries
  • Income protection & death-in-service cover
  • Paid annual volunteer days
  • Wagestream early wage access and financial wellbeing tools
  • Referral bonuses from day one
  • Exclusive savings on travel, shopping & experiences
  • Restaurant welfare budget for snacks, drinks & support
  • Full training package, including WSET and leadership development

We’re building a team that reflects the richness and diversity of the communities we serve. At Hawksmoor, we welcome everyone and believe in creating a workplace where individuality is celebrated, kindness is key and high standards are met together. If this role excites you but you don’t meet every requirement, please apply anyway — you might be exactly who we’re looking for.
