The Payroll Assistant role has been created to strengthen the payroll function as Lane7 continues to grow and expand its portfolio of venues. The successful candidate will assist with payroll processing, employee payroll queries, compliance checks, and payroll administration. They will play a key role in maintaining payroll accuracy, supporting statutory compliance, and providing excellent service to employees and managers across the business.

The Role

The Payroll Assistant supports the day-to-day running of payroll operations across the Group, reporting into the Payroll Manager. This includes reviewing payroll data, resolving employee queries, liaising with payroll providers, and working closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate payroll delivery across the UK, Ireland, and Germany.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing & Administration

  • Review and validate payroll data, ensuring employee payments, deductions, and payroll changes are accurate prior to payroll approval.
  • Support payroll administration activities for employees across the UK, Ireland, and Germany.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records in line with GDPR and company policies.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Liaise with outsourced payroll providers to resolve payroll queries and ensure payrolls are processed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Respond to employee payroll-related queries professionally, confidentially, and in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll information is accurate and submitted within payroll deadlines.

Reporting & Controls

  • Assist with month-end reporting, payroll audits, and payroll documentation.
  • Support payroll reconciliations and maintain appropriate audit trails.
  • Help identify and investigate payroll discrepancies and variances.

Continuous Improvement

  • Support the ongoing improvement of payroll processes, systems, and internal controls.

To be a success with Lane7, you’ll: 

  • Have proven payroll experience (essential), ideally within a HR and payroll environment.
  • Have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Be a Payroll Assistant excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong numerical and problem-solving skills.
  • Be a Payroll Assistant with great communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Have the ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

  • Experience working with outsourced payroll providers.
  • Exposure to international payrolls, particularly Ireland and Germany.
