Description
Hotel June is seeking an Executive Chef for our two signature outlets and bars. Inspired by the soul and spirit of California, Scenic Route and Caravan Swim Club offer vibrant food and drink for hotel guests and the local community. Hotel June has partnered with Hospitality guru, Steve Livigni of award-winning Scopa Italian Roots, Dama, Old Lightning and Black Market Liquor Bar to create new food and beverage concepts drawing inspiration along the coast from Baja, MX to Santa Barbara, CA. This ideally located 250-room re-imagined Hotel on the Westside with two restaurants, creative event venues, and a spectacular pool deck is the flagship of a new thoughtful, accessible, lifestyle brand from Proper Hotels.

Responsibilities
• Oversee the culinary operations and management of culinary staff and heart-of-the-house employees
• Provide guidance and direction for all day-to-day operations
• Directly oversee the hiring, training, coaching, development, and discipline for culinary staff
• Plan and manage the procurement, production, preparation, and presentation of all food in a safe, sanitary and cost-effective manner
• Ensure compliance with food handlers and sanitation standards
• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, procedures, and brand standards
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly management administrative duties including operations reports, financial documentation, human resources/staff management paperwork, standard operating procedures, safety, and sanitation checklists, and ordering and inventory documentation

Skills/Knowledge Required
• 4 years’ experience in a similar position in a fast-paced environment
• Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate the team
• Strong written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
• Proactive attitude with strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
• TIPS and Serv Safe Preferred

Education
Culinary Degree or Equivalent Training Required.
