People Co-ordinator – Five Star Hotel – Mayfair – Excellent Package and Growth Opportunities – Full-time, on-site.

The Athenaeum is an independent, family-owned luxury hotel and residences, offering a refreshingly natural approach to five-star hospitality. Privately owned and proudly individual, the hotel delivers an experience that feels personal, warm and authentic, where genuine care takes precedence over formality.

Hospitality at The Athenaeum is defined by a warm welcome and a can’t-do-enough-for-you attitude. Our teams take pride in delivering moments of surprise and delight, creating stays that feel thoughtful, generous and genuinely memorable. This is luxury that feels human, confident, intuitive and unforced.

At the heart of the hotel are our people. With an Original Local spirit and a subtle members’ club feel, The Athenaeum fosters a close-knit, welcoming culture where colleagues are known, individuality is celebrated and pride is taken in creating exceptional experiences together.

As part of Sir Richard Sutton Ltd, a family-owned hospitality business, The Athenaeum offers the opportunity to grow within an organisation that values independence, craftsmanship and people, while shaping the future of one of London’s most distinctive luxury hotels.

Our Opportunity

You will be expected to get out amongst the action and so this role is particularly hands on. If you prefer to be stuck in the office, this position is not for you. It may sound obvious, but you must be a people person, highly emotionally intelligent, with a genuine interest in others.

Experience and qualifications definitely make a difference but this is a role where getting stuck in is the priority – no two days look the same – supporting the People Manager and wider team with all things “People”.

As a guide, the role will encompass:

·       Engagement and retention

·       Supporting with recruitment and onboarding

·       Yes, there’s definitely some admin involved!

·       Supporting with employee relations issues

The successful candidate will have:

·       A positive can-do attitude.

·       An excellent level of computer literacy.

·       Experience of working within an HR team within the hospitality industry
