Impact and Partnerships Manager

Description

About the job

We are looking for an accomplished, empathetic and commercially minded Impact and Partnerships Manager.

We’re the world’s first prison-based coffee company, on a mission to reduce reoffending rates by creating employment opportunities for prison leavers. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that the participants in our impact programmes receive the best support possible and owning the relationships with our external partners.

You’ll be joining a skilled team of six - a Head of Impact, Lead Caseworker and four Barista Trainers - plus a strong and innovative impact model to promote and develop.

You’ll report directly to the Head of Impact and work across the business with the Hospitality, Marketing and Roastery teams. As a member of the Impact team’s leadership group, you’ll make key decisions and shape the future of the impact model.

As an industry leading, impact-focused social enterprise, our social mission is at the heart of why we exist and you will need to own it!

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsibility for managing our impact model and external stakeholders

  • Working alongside all of our pro-bono, in-kind and funding partners to deliver proposed impact outcomes

  • Building and managing referral pathways into our community training

  • Assisting the Lead Caseworker with participant support

  • Working with the Head of Impact to design, implement and manage our measurement and evaluation framework

  • Establishing the company's positioning and target audience by analysing customer insights, consumer trends, competitors and the market

  • Promoting the company as a social enterprise and a voice for social justice in relevant fields

  • Owning the entire grant funding process

  • Drafting fully costed project proposals

  • Drafting progress and outcome reports following successful funding agreements

  • Drafting internal and external communications related to our impact model and ways of working

What you’ll need to show:

  • 3+ years experience in a similar role

  • Experience supporting/advocating for vulnerable or marginalised groups (preferably individuals with lived experience of the criminal justice system but not essential)

  • An ability to provide empathetic and practical support to individuals with a range of complex support needs

  • An understanding of safeguarding and experience reporting safeguarding issues

  • An understanding of the criminal justice system, including sentencing disposals and the role played by different stakeholders including prisons, probation and the third sector in an individual’s journey through the gates and into the community

  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with a variety of external partners and stakeholders (in the areas of criminal justice would be preferable but not essential)

  • Experience collecting and reporting on impact data, including drafting annual impact reports and working with a CRM system

  • Experience applying for grants and philanthropic funding, including drafting budgets, project proposals and progress reports (in the areas of criminal justice preferable but not essential)

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance competing priorities across a range of work areas
