Job description
OPEN CALL INFORMATION
Saturday May 11th, 11am - 4pm. An Island Oyster representative will meet candidates inside the Battery Maritime Building and take them together to Governors Island. The ferry departs from the Battery Maritime Building every 30 minutes on the hour and half past. Please arrive 10 minutes prior.
Please bring valid identification such as 1) a passport OR 2) a valid state issued ID/Drivers license AND a social security card (please note that a passport is acceptable as a single document, where the state ID and social security card must be presented together). While on the ferry you will be provided with a general overview of Island Oyster Restaurant and once on the island will receive a brief venue orientation and interview with a member of the management team. Ferries depart Governors Island, returning to the Battery Maritime Building, every 30 minutes as well. Please keep in mind that this is an open-air, outdoor establishment to please dress accordingly with regards to the day’s weather.

THE POSITIONS
Summer Ops is seeking Bartenders, Servers, Oyster Shuckers, Hosts, Runners, Bussers and Lead Runners and Baristas with significant high volume experience for our Governors Island venue, Island Oyster.

JOB OVERVIEW
Our front of house staff are ambassadors to our community, sharing great drinks, epic views, and island vibes. Successful candidates for these positions will have a passion for engaged and friendly customer service; will possess a rich knowledge of the food and beverage world; and will be skilled at quickly and efficiently producing high quality results. We are seeking candidates with strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills, a critical eye for detail, and a genuine ability to connect with both guests and staff. Must love sunsets.
