Quality Management Assistant

This position is responsible for ensuring safety and quality of products. Conduct sampling, analysis, and inspection of finished products, raw materials, ingredients and packaging. Identifies non-conformances and takes appropriate corrective action. Works independently with little supervision and adheres to the highest standard of ethical and legal conduct

KEY RESULT AREA (action-reason-result/s formula) 

Key Result Area 1: QC Sampling & Analysis

1.     Gather and conduct analysis of all QC sampling activities from across all receiving warehouses and report on statuses/trends.

2.     Conduct all laboratory testing with accuracy and integrity and ensure that it is accomplished in compliance with all federal, state and company policies and procedures.

3.     Evaluating and documenting quality of finished goods and raw materials, including sensory analysis and a variety of analytical instruments

4.     Report quality conditions accurately; and monitor product (physical, chemical and sensory characteristics of raw and finished products) to identify and address any non-compliances

Key Result Area 2: Quality Hold Process & Inspections

1.     Identify non-conformance in quality and safety and take or recommended appropriate corrective action within the scope of knowledge.

2.     Communication to supervisor on any non-conforming issues.

Key Result Area 3: Data and Documents Management

1.     Organize and update documentation related to receiving activities (i.e. Certificate of Analysis, etc).

2.     Work collaboratively with the Supervisor to aid in the maintenance of product specifications.

Assist in the creation and management of vendor scorecards; organizing/updating supplier audit programs and ensure compliance with government regulations thru supplier documents review and completion.    

Key Result Area 4: QC Equipment Handling and Maintenance

1.     Basic knowledge of the lab’s equipment such as: Refractometer, pH meter, scales, water activity meter, moisture analyzer, consistometer, etc.

2.     Perform analysis such as: Brix, pH, Acid, TA, salt, etc.

3.     Calibrate the lab equipment including the Refractometer, pH meter, thermometer, etc.

4.     Safely handle/use of chemicals and waste. Read, understand and maintain MSDS

Key Result Area 5 Feedback Management and CAR CAPA Handling

1.     Issuance of corrective action request for non-conforming items.

2.     Follow up of corrective action and preventive action with suppliers and other units.

3.     Track process improvements derive from CAR CAPA issuance.
