JOB SUMMARY

The Supply Planning Specialist is responsible for assisting the Supply Planning Group in ensuring sufficient inventory while supporting the financial viability of the business. He/She will assist in the supply planning activities of raw materials and finished goods distributed within the North American region – USA and Canada. This includes coordination with cross-functional teams (i.e., Procurement, Research and Development, Marketing, Store Operations team, Customer Service/Order Management, Logistics, Manufacturing and Suppliers) in fulfilling desired inventory level.

In this role, he/she will perform administrative tasks and services to support an effective and efficient supply planning operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides clerical support to Supply Planning Group. 
  • Maintains supply planning data system.
  • Monitor movement of products, and update Safety Stock/Target Quantity levels of each stock item.
  • Provides immediate feedback to concerned individual/team on critical inventory levels.
  • Coordinate directly with Suppliers on delivery schedules and issues.
  • Coordinate implementation of phase-in and phase out of products as directed.
  • Create, release and monitor execution of purchase orders upon approval of the Supply Planning Manager or Purchasing Head.

  • Perform other job/task or supply planning expertise related assignments in order to develop one’s self and/or share one’s expertise resulting to support work efficiencies & productivity.
  • Handle confidently and skillfully all internal and external communications with all diverse ethnicities, cultures, races.
  • Take initiative and collaborate with experts and immediate supervisor before making decisions / actions.
  • Attend/participate in meetings, conferences, company events and benchmarking or networking opportunities as needed.

Education - Associate degree in related field

Experience - Prior related experience preferred.

  • Perform administrative duties as necessary i.e., making copies, filing, expenses reimbursement, etc.
  • Prepare department plans, objectives, goals, strategies and measures; performance goals and standards.
Other Qualifications
  • Computer Literacy:  Must be at least proficient if not achieved mastery in the essential MS Applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Physical Effort/Requirements:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee will:
    • stand/walk occasionally on the scheduled work shift.
    • lift, reach, pull, push, grasp and use hands occasionally.
    • bend and/or squat down occasionally on the scheduled shift.
    • climb, stoop and/or kneel rarely.
    • lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
    • need to see well enough to differentiate product quality parameters, read/compose email, reports, use the computer and be proactive to customers’ feedback affecting quality of service.
    • need to speak and hear well enough to give/receive instructions, feedback and communicate with employees, customers and partners/vendors/suppliers.
    • be required to work irregular hours or varying work shifts schedules as necessary at work.
  • Mental Ability/Requirements:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee will:
    • be required to perform standardized/adaptive arithmetical computations and pricing analysis, negotiations, scheduling and monitoring of stocks’ movement, creativity and innovations.
  • Work Environment:  Work is performed indoors and outdoors in various reasonable weather conditions and varied climates.
    • Tensions and pressures may arise in meeting deadlines and goals. It may range from moderate to heavy (occasionally).
