Restaurant Manager (Seasonal – March to October)

Description
Motivation, guidance, inspiration, and leadership: our restaurant managers have the attributes to bring the best out of our team members and ensure we provide our customers with outstanding service.

JPRestaurants are recruiting a fixed-term, seasonal Restaurant Manager for Jersey Crab Shack in St Brelade's Bay, Jersey, with a start date of 01 March 2023, running to 31 October 2023.

Our restaurant managers possess excellent people management skills, demonstrate a high degree of computer literacy, and have the verbal and written communication skills to communicate with customers confidently and effectively. A strong track record in management of premium-casual restaurants and the ability to manage costs and reservations are essential, as is a proven ability to develop, train, and motivate staff.

What we offer:

This role has a total annualised package equivalent to £45,000 per annum, consisting of basic salary at £40,000 per annum, holiday pay, and an end-of-season retention bonus. Pro-rated salary and holiday pay across the eight-month contract come to £3,537 per month.

The successful applicant will be eligible for an end-of-season retention bonus of £2,500, subject to completing the seasonal contract up to and including 31 October 2023.

Our employees also have access to a generous benefits package, including:
• Meals provided while on duty
• Staff discount across our restaurant and café businesses

It's important to say that we've moved away from tips, and for good reason: our team's remuneration is written into contracts and bonus schemes, and isn't reliant on gratuities - for more information go to https://jprestaurants.com/news/living-wage-employers

Contract and hours:

This is a permanent, full-time role.

A work-life balance is important to everyone in the business, and we strive to ensure that everyone works a 5-day week on a regular basis.

Accommodation:

The Company can arrange live-in accommodation for those moving to Jersey, either above our some of our restaurants, or with accommodation partners.

Right to work:

This is an imminent hire and, as such, requires the candidate to have the immediate right to work in Jersey or the United Kingdom (Jersey, UK, or Irish passport, EU Settled or Pre-Settled Status, or ILR).

If you do not have the immediate right to work in the UK, please instead apply to one of our "Fixed-term" vacancies at https://harri.com/jprestaurants

Our approach:

Our aim is for customers to leave wanting to return – and recommending us to their friends and family. With our customer-first approach, we are clear and transparent about what we offer and what customers can expect, and we are constantly listening to feedback from our customers and team members on how we can improve further.

Our business:

Established in 1946 as a small family-owned studio pottery, Jersey Pottery grew to become one of the Island’s busiest and most popular tourist attractions in the 1980s. In the early 1960s a coffee bar was introduced to cater to tourists visiting the ceramic factory and showroom. The original coffee bar was the beginning of JPRestaurants, which has now become one of the leading restaurant and catering businesses in Jersey, serving thousands of customers daily with fresh, local and innovative food.

JPRestaurants has invested in digitalisation to drive excellence, enhance customer service and build a better working environment for its workforce. Our team has the opportunity to work and develop skills in a hospitality environment backed by a world-class technology infrastructure and innovative working practices.

We are also mindful of our role as a local business and look to work for the benefit of our community and environment through careful management of our suppliers, good working conditions and initiatives to support others less fortunate than us.
