Just Salad is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and motivated candidate with a strong ability to problem-solve and a willingness to continuously learn. The IT Intern will report to the Director of Field Tech + IT Operations and serve as a key resource for all IT-related queries across 120+ locations (NYC, FL, CHI, NJ, PA, MA) and Corporate (50+ members). This is a hands-on role offering exposure to real-world IT infrastructure, cybersecurity practices, emerging AI-powered tooling, and day-to-day operations support.
This position is on our NYC Midtown office and reports to our Director of Field Tech + IT Operations
Duties & Responsibilities IT Support & Infrastructure
● Provide technical assistance to staff on hardware and software-related issues across all locations and corporate offices
● Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, hardware, and peripheral devices on Windows and Mac environments
● Monitor system performance and proactively address issues to sustain 99%+ uptime across all machines
● Follow established procedures and processes for routine computer maintenance and system hygiene
● Perform system backups and maintain accurate, up-to-date records of configurations and changes
● Organize and manage new equipment intake and maintain existing hardware inventory
● Assist with new store opening installations across multiple markets, including device provisioning and network setup
● Travel 60-70% of the time within NYC and surrounding markets to support field locations Help Desk & End User Support
● Assist with managing and resolving IT Help Desk tickets through Freshservice in a timely, SLA-compliant manner
● Triage, categorize, and prioritize incoming requests; escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as appropriate
● Maintain clear and professional communication with end users throughout the ticket lifecycle
● Provide training and guidance to team members on the use of computer systems, software, and AV equipment
● Document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions for the IT knowledge base Cybersecurity/AI & Services
● Assist with monitoring systems for security vulnerabilities, suspicious activity, and policy violations
● Help maintain endpoint protection, access control, and user security awareness initiatives
● Adhere to data protection standards and internal IT security protocols at all times
● Assist in the evaluation, testing, and rollout of AI-powered tools and service integrations across business operations
● Support the IT team in integrating AI-driven solutions into existing workflows, such as helpdesk automation, predictive maintenance, and operations tooling
● Help monitor AI integration performance and flag anomalies, inefficiencies, or user adoption issues
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities where automation or AI can improve day-to-day operations
Requirements & Qualifications
● Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
● Foundational knowledge of computer systems, software, and AV equipment
● Understanding of network and system security principles
● Familiarity with hardware and software installation and configuration
● Exposure to AI tools, automation platforms, or IT service integrations is a strong plus
● Experience with Freshservice or a comparable ITSM/help desk platform is advantageous
● Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a resourceful, solutions-first mindset
● Strong written and verbal communication skills and a customer service orientation
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
● Quick learner who adapts well to evolving technologies and workflows
● Willingness to travel 40%-50% of the time, primarily within NYC
