Description
Assists with month-end closing, reconciliations and transaction processing for a dynamic restaurant company that operates two restaurant brands: STK and Kona Grill. Perform general ledger accounting and review of financial statements.

Essential Functions

1. Analyzes accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department.
2. Execute usual accounting functions, which include operating the general ledger system and month-end close work.
3. Complete monthly closing procedures in compliance with company policies and procedures.
4. Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue and expense entries.
5. Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts and prepare account reconciliations.
6. Investigate, resolve, and respond to inquiries on financial matters from corporate and restaurant management.
7. Assist with month-end accrual entries.
8. Assist in fixed asset accounting.
9. Support periodic audit and review efforts with outside auditors.
10. Design and implement process improvements.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and photocopiers.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position may occasionally require long hours and occasional weekend work as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in accounting.
2. Restaurant accounting experience a plus.
3. CPA certification a plus.
4. Strong General Accounting skills and GAAP knowledge with experience in month end close through to financial statement preparation.
5. Proficiency in all MS Office applications, and advanced knowledge of Excel required.
6. Experience with Great Plains, Management Reporter, Power BI.
7. Can prioritize workload and perform multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
8. Candidates must have excellent communication skills (oral and written), the ability to interact with all levels of management through the organization and the initiative to get the job done.
