Description

We’re on the lookout for a Data Engineer to join us at Butcombe during an exciting stage in our data journey. This is your chance to get stuck into building a central data hub that brings together systems like Navision, S4 Labour, Acteol CRM and Procure Wizard – helping us unlock smarter decisions right across the business.

You’ll be part of our brand-new Growth team, shaping the way data is collected, modelled and shared. From building pipelines to supporting reporting in Power BI, your work will directly influence how we run our pubs, inns and retail – and ultimately how we give our teams and guests the best possible experience.

What you’ll be doing

No two days will look the same, but here are some of the things you’ll get involved with:

  • Designing and maintaining SQL data warehouses and schemas that make reporting slick and reliable

  • Building and maintaining ETL pipelines to bring together data from our key systems

  • Developing API integrations and ensuring data quality across the board

  • Supporting Power BI and SSRS reporting – turning raw data into real insights

  • Working closely with analysts, developers and managers to understand what the business needs and deliver data solutions that make it happen

What we’re looking for

We’re after someone who:

  • Has experience designing SQL data warehouses and pipelines (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS ideally)

  • Knows their way around SQL Stored Procedures, indexing, scripts and functions

  • Has worked with a self-service reporting tool (Power BI preferred)

  • Understands how to integrate 3rd party systems via APIs

  • Loves solving problems and turning complex data into actionable insights

  • Bonus points if you’ve worked in hospitality, retail or with systems like EPOS, labour management or CRM

Why join us?

At Butcombe, it’s not just about the work – it’s about the people. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Day-1 access to our Benefits Bar – from high street discounts to holiday savings

  • Extra holiday with our annual leave purchase scheme

  • 30% off at all Butcombe Pubs & Inns (plus 50% off food on shift)

  • Your birthday off, plus gifts for work anniversaries

  • Wellbeing support through The Burnt Chef Project and our 24/7 Employee Assistance line

  • Family-friendly policies including enhanced maternity and paternity pay

  • Genuine career growth with award-winning training, apprenticeships and progression pathways

A bit about us
