We’re on the lookout for a passionate and people-focused Assistant Retail Manager to join our brilliant retail team in Guernsey. Whether you already have experience in retail or are looking to step up and grow your skills, this is a great opportunity to be part of a friendly, close-knit team that’s all about delivering great service – and sharing a genuine love of wine, spirits, and all things drinks!

Based across our two Wine Shops in Guernsey, you’ll be a key part of the day-to-day running of the stores – supporting the Retail Manager and stepping in to lead when they’re away. From helping customers find their perfect bottle to keeping the shop looking its best, this is a hands-on, varied role for someone who enjoys being part of a team and takes real pride in what they do.

What you’ll be doing:

• Giving our customers a warm welcome and helping them find the right products with friendly, knowledgeable service
• Keeping the shop looking brilliant – from displays and merchandising to making sure shelves are fully stocked
• Handling payments and refunds at the till and making sure everything runs smoothly on the shop floor
• Helping to manage deliveries and stock – checking in new arrivals and working with the team to keep things organised
• Opening and closing the shop and supporting the day’s priorities
• Taking the lead when the Retail Manager is away – keeping things on track, supporting the team, and ensuring service standards stay high
• Working with the wholesale team to help with trade customer enquiries and orders
• Growing your product knowledge – particularly around wines – and sharing it confidently with our customers

What we’re looking for:

• Someone with a warm, confident approach who enjoys speaking with customers
• Ideally 2 years’ retail experience – but full training will be given
• A team player with a hands-on attitude who’s happy to roll up their sleeves
• Great attention to detail, especially when it comes to store standards and visual presentation
• Comfortable using tills, handling payments, and following processes
• Someone who can take initiative and lead with calm confidence when needed
• Interest or passion for wines and spirits is a big plus – but not essential
