Scope 

As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our members' well-being and independence, regardless of the setting, which includes both traditional care homes and specialised rehabilitation facilities. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Provide direct care to members by supporting and promoting their independence, choice, dignity, and overall well-being, in alignment with each member’s Personal Care Plan. 

  • Assisting Washing, Showering, Bathing and Dessing 

  • Promoting continence and also assisting with toileting, mobility, food and fluid intake 

  • Use of moving and handling equipment, wheelchairs and any specific mobility aid required by a member 

  • Providing ongoing support for the members, their family and supporting the Nursing team. 

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of each member’s life story, preferences and routines to deliver truly individualised care. 

  • Provide emotional support, reassurance and meaningful engagement, particularly for members living with dementia or cognitive impairment. 

  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation within Loveday’s digital care systems and promptly escalate concerns to the nurse or manager. 

  • Actively promote safeguarding, report concerns immediately, and uphold Loveday’s commitment to transparency and duty of candour. 

  • Adhere to infection prevention and control procedures at all times to maintain a safe environment for members, visitors and colleagues. 

  • Deliver care with five-star hospitality standards, including professional presentation, courteous communication and exceptional service etiquette. 

  • Work collaboratively with all departments to create a seamless, enriching experience for members.
