Junior Maintenance Engineer

Central Amusement International Inc. (CAI) is an amusement park development and management company located in New York City. In 2003, CAI developed Victorian Gardens at Wollman Rink in Central Park, and in 2010 developed Luna Park in Coney Island, at the site of the birthplace of the amusement industry. We are currently seeking qualified Mechanical Maintenance Technicians /Ride Maintenance Mechanics for our Brooklyn location at Luna Park in Coney Island, New York. CAI is part of
the Zamperla Group, which is the worldwide leader in the manufacturing of amusement rides.

A Junior Maintenance Engineer, is responsible for critical engineering of mechanical equipment and projects throughout the park. The ideal candidate would be responsible to maintain mechanic equipment, and dispatch to repair needs as designated by the supervisor on duty. Core responsibilities include the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, repair, and advance troubleshooting of electro-mechanic machinery to ensure their safe and efficient operation, "Hands-On" Work.
  • The Technician will perform visual and auditory inspections of electro-mechanic machinery and maintain proper records for all inspections, maintenance and repairs performed utilizing MA CMMS system or similar.
  • Keep a machine spare parts inventory and notify the supervisor of any materials necessary to ensure safety and continuous operation.
  • Ensure that machines are clean and visually compliant with manufacturers specifications and Luna Park in Coney Island Maintenance Standards
  • Inspect machines daily and notify a Maintenance Supervisor of any hazards.
  • Will be required to perform shift supervisor duties, including but not limited to ensuring proper coordination, productivity, safety, quality of Work, and cleanliness on assigned projects.
  • Able to coordinate maintenance and inspection procedures.
  • Will work alongside Maintenance Personager to instruct and support other team members.

Skill and requirements:

  • Must have at least 1 year of prior experience in the Mechanical Maintenance field, advanced troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical/electro-mechanical systems, heavy equipment, or industrial machinery.
  • Experience using instrumentation and measuring equipment (Multimeter, caliper, etc.)
  • Ability to read and comprehend both pneumatic and hydraulic schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Candidates must have experience and be certified with industrial equipment such as Forklift, telescopic boom lift, Telehandler, etc.
  • Candidates must possess a strong work ethic and be safety conscious.
  • This position requires a high school diploma (GED) and completed trade school certification in the related field.
  • Experience in welding, machining, and understanding electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic schematics and control systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of labor and industrial safety codes and laws (OSHA, NEC, ASTM, etc.).
  • Candidates must possess strong leadership and communication skills for a diverse environment.
