The Host position is seasonal. Due to the nature of Luna Park’s business, the Host Associate may be required to work for longer than normal work periods. The host associate must be willing and able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Assisting guests by giving verbal instructions or information in person. The Host/Hostess must be courteous and professional and use good judgment when answering questions. The  Host/Hostess must be knowledgeable on services offered at the park and event details. 

Hosts work in collaboration with the sales department handling groups, parties, private events, weddings, public relation events, 
exhibits and a exert a high degree of customer service relations toward ensuring guest satisfaction by displaying an aggressively friendly approach to serving guests. In addition, the Host/Hostess must be able to deal with many guests each day in a positive and friendly manner.

Must be willing and able to perform all other job duties and assignments as assigned by management

Required Qualifications:

- Must be honest and meticulously accurate in their ticketing, Paperwork and providing accurate information to guests.
- They must have an excellent guest service attitude, and demonstrate exceptional patience
- Able to communicate effectively in a professional manner with co-workers, supervisors, subordinates, vendors, and Luna Park guests
- Able to make quick and effective decisions
- Able to complete basic math calculations
- Able to deal with guests in a friendly, but firm manner
- Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Able to handle stressful situations in a calm, professional manner
- Able to learn and operate a computer quickly and efficiently at the same time as interacting with our guests

Physical Requirements:

- Able to stand and/or walk for up to (8) hours
- Able to walk quickly to/from job locations up to 1 (one) kilometer distance
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Able to read and understand daily checklists
- Able to speak to give other employees and guests verbal instructions
- Able to work in a considerably noisy environment from equipment and amusement rides
- Able to perform work duties outside in varying weather conditions prevalent at the time
- Requires early arrivals and/or late night departures

This position reports to Sales Managers

Central Amusement International Inc. (CAI) is an amusement park planner, developer, and operator that takes pride in its facilities by operating with the utmost quality, care, and safety. Headquartered in Boonton, New Jersey, CAI currently operates amusement facilities in New York City at iconic locations, such as Central Park and Coney Island. CAI is continuously in the process of expansion and development, as such in 2010 when the NYCEDC awarded CAI a 10-year lease on 7 acres of prime real estate at the historically dubbed “America’s Playground” – Coney Island. Immediately following the official announcement, CAI joined forces with Zamperla, the industry leader in ride manufacturing, and has since inaugurated Luna Park, the first amusement park in Coney Island in over 4 decades, and Scream Zone, a thrill-seekers amusement park which brought the first roller coasters to Coney Island in over 80 years. In 2011, CAI also took over the operation of the world-renowned Cyclone Roller Coaster.

Through its array of entertainment venues CAI is able to offer multiple vehicles of fun and excitement that are sure to please all visitors, all the while staying true to its mission, “to provide a friendly, safe, and clean environment with amusement and entertainment activities that creates a memorable experience for the entire family”.
