Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Artisanal
Bagel & Bread Maker to join our culinary team. This role is
hands-on and requires expertise in scratch baking, fermentation, and shaping
bagels and breads that meet our high standards of quality and consistency.
Responsibilities:
· Mix, ferment, shape, boil, and bake authentic bagels daily
· Produce a variety of breads (rye, sourdough, challah, etc.) with consistency and quality
· Manage dough schedules, proofing, and oven baking to ensure product excellence
· Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe production space
· Collaborate with Chef Joey and the culinary team on seasonal and specialty bread offerings
· Monitor inventory of flour, yeast, and baking supplies; communicate needs in advance
Qualifications:
· 3+ years of professional bread or bagel baking experience (artisanal preferred)
· Strong understanding of fermentation, hydration ratios, and traditional baking methods
· Ability to hand-shape dough and work with both bagel kettles and deck ovens
· Reliable, detail-oriented, and passionate about craft baking
· Early morning/Late evening availability
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
· NYC native is a plus but not required!
