Mac Haik Restaurant Group is opening a fresh coffee concept in Houston and is seeking a passionate and experienced Barista Shift Manager to lead our New Restaurant Opening (NRO) team at Maggie’s Coffee. This is a unique opportunity to build a coffee bar culture from the ground up—combining leadership, hospitality, and operational excellence in a vibrant new setting.

What We’re Looking For
  • Previous shift lead or supervisor experience preferred.
  • Barista or customer service experience required.
  • Proven ability to hire, train, schedule, and manage a team effectively.
  • Passion for coffee and interest in coffee preparation and quality.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid Food Handler Certificate required.
  • Dependable, punctual, and available Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
What You’ll Do
  • Lead and coach the barista team to ensure smooth operations and high service standards.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and shift coverage for optimal team support.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, including setup, breakdown, and cash handling.
  • Engage with guests and resolve questions or concerns professionally.
  • Ensure all drinks and food items meet company quality and presentation standards.
  • Perform barista duties during peak times and lead by example.
  • Maintain training documentation and provide ongoing coaching.
  • Monitor cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and restocking to prevent shortages or waste.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs.
  • Foster a team culture built on accountability, professionalism, and hospitality.
  • Communicate shift updates and performance feedback to leadership.
  • Represent the coffee bar in leadership meetings and complete required trainings.
