maman is a French bakery, café, and lifestyle brand founded in 2014 by Elisa Marshall & Benjamin Sormonte, with locations across North America. Inspired by family traditions and a commitment to quality ingredients, maman is best known for our famous nutty chocolate chip cookie, alongside artisanal baked goods, specialty coffee, fresh breakfast, and seasonal lunch offerings. Beyond our cafés, we host intimate gatherings, special events, and creative brand partnerships that bring people together to celebrate life’s memorable moments.

We’re looking for a General Manager who is as passionate about people as they are about food and hospitality. You are a natural leader who thrives in a fast paced environment, knows how to build strong teams, and loves making guests feel at home. At maman, no task is too small, and we all roll up our sleeves to make sure our cafés are warm, welcoming, and run with care.

What you’ll do:
• Lead and inspire a team of approximately 25 FOH and BOH staff, setting the tone for teamwork, service, and hospitality

• Spend about 75 percent of your time on the floor leading by example, with the remaining 25 percent dedicated to scheduling, inventory, ordering, reporting, and other operational tasks
• Partner closely with your Regional Director and Culinary Director to align on goals, priorities, and support needs
• Take ownership of financial performance: monitor sales, labor, and COGS, identify opportunities, and ensure profitability without compromising guest experience
• Conduct monthly performance reviews, ongoing coaching, and training for all team members
• Manage staffing needs, onboarding, and ensure all hires are fully set up in Harri prior to their first shift
• Oversee food safety, quality, and consistency in alignment with maman standards
• Uphold café aesthetics and maintain a warm, welcoming atmosphere that encourages guest loyalty
• Handle guest concerns with professionalism, care, and swift resolution
• Collaborate with the maman office team on new SOPs, menu launches, marketing activations, and events

What we’re looking for:

• 3 or more years of leadership experience in hospitality, retail, or restaurants
• Strong familiarity with Toast, Harri, and third party delivery platforms
• A true sense of ownership: you take responsibility for your team and your café’s success
• A problem solver who knows when to take initiative and when to escalate
• Valid food handler’s certificate and commitment to safety at all times
• Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and special events
• A passion for hospitality and guest experience, with an eye for detail and esthetics
• Approachable, upbeat, humble, and team oriented  you lead with empathy and positivity
