Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of pastry experience in a fine dining restaurant/hotel
Experience with running a kitchen
English proficiency (reading, writing and speaking)
Demonstrated strong pastry skills previously
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Culinary Program degree and an emphasis in pastry preferred
Ability to analyze costs analysis
FoodHandlers/Servsafe certification
Extensive knowledge in Italian cuisine

Contribute to weekly staff education meetings
Facilitate good communication with guests and all other necessary parties
Key Responsibilities:
Understand importance of sanitation and an orderly kitchen
Supervise staff, guide and teach subordinates
Assist pastry chef in the production of baked goods
Assist with developing menu with chefs and culinary team
Plan and prepare a wide variety of goods
Come up with creative ideas and innovative items for menus every so often
Prepare speciality baked goods for in-house events
Test quality of ingredients and keep track of inventory and ordering
Occasionally interview and hire qualified candidates for necessary positions
When ordering keep budget under control, without sacrificing quality of goods
Analyze food costs and determine cost-effectiveness for goods and services
Provide thorough training for personnel and new recruitment as necessary
Ensure kitchen equipment is in good working order and meets all requirements
Keep up with new trends in the industry and apply to the business
Actively participate in weekly management meetings
Physical requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Ability to squat, crouch, bend occasionally
