An exciting opportunity has arisen for an 18-month Fixed term contract within our Business Change and Technology function. Sitting within our Portfolio Delivery team, we are recruiting a PMO Co-ordinator to ensure that Projects and Programmes in the BC&T portfolio are planned and managed effectively, enabling success through early and thorough preparation.

As a PMO Coordinator, you will ensure that Projects and Programmes are monitored, controlled and delivered within the M&B Delivery Frameworks so that time, cost and quality targets are achieved.

You will also be responsible for driving continuous improvement within the Project Delivery Team and wider department by constant review of delivery success and implementation of changes to process and framework.

If you are passionate about developing your career within an established PMO team, we would be keen to hear from you. This role will involve a mixture of office and home working, with our Head Office based in Birmingham City Centre.

About us…

Serving with pride since 1898, Mitchells & Butlers are the heart of UK hospitality. In fact, you already know us, even if you don’t realise it! We own and run more than 1,600 pubs, bars and restaurants including the stylish All Bar One brand, legendary Miller & Carter steakhouses, and the iconic Toby Carvery. We are Mitchells & Butlers, and we set the industry standard.

You’ll be well rewarded…

  • Working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility with working hours to fit around your personal commitments.
  • 33% off at all our brands, including our hotels. Whether it’s date night at Miller & Carter or a family roast at Toby Carvery, we’ve got you covered.
  • A pension that pays, where we’ll more than match your contributions (x1.5 of your contributions, up to a maximum of 5% of your salary).
  • Private healthcare, dental plan, cycle to work, and keep fit schemes.
  • 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

As a Project Co-ordinator you will be responsible for:

  • Co-ordination of BC&T projects and programmes to ensure they are planned, monitored and controlled in accordance with the MAB Delivery Frameworks.

Project Start-Up to include;

  • Lead Project Complexity Model completion meetings to determine the correct framework.
  • Set up Projects on our project management tool and align them to the relevant framework.
  • Project Monitoring Throughout the Project Lifecycle - in order to escalate any issues which may impact on the BC&T programme and its inter-dependencies.
  • Provide support to project managers on the finance process and support them with this during the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure that documentation is created, using correct templates with relevant people contributing and approving the documents as per the Document Deliverable Matrix.
  • Project Closure - Ensuring project closure activities are completed and documentation archived correctly.
  • Support the M&B Delivery Centre of Excellence - Promote and ensure application of good practice with internal Project Managers and teams.
  • Drive adoption and evolution - to be Subject Matter Expert in all PMO Tools that the Project Delivery teams are requested to use.
  • Assist in Portfolio level monitoring – to include finances, risks and project changes.
  • Assist with Portfolio level communications - Compile consolidated Reporting Dashboards and Portfolio Delivery Group slides, alongside facilitating the Portfolio Delivery Group and Quarterly Planning Meetings.

You will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Tenacity, drive, initiative, creativity and a “can do” attitude to cope with fast paced environments and multiple demands
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong skills in creating and maintaining schedules and managing risks, actions and issues
  • Confident user of Excel, Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft Applications
  • An individual who is results and delivery focussed, with a detail-orientated approach
  • Experience in a Business Change & Technology environment, particularly with technical and development projects is highly desirable
