Are you a results driven individual, with effective coaching skills and a passion for hospitality? We are looking for an Operational Practice Manager on a 6-month secondment basis you will be responsible for supporting the area management population (geographically & cross brand) to deliver improvements in performance within the areas of, stock, cash, energy, and labour productivity. You will deliver direct support & performance improvements to the pubs, providing coaching to grow capability and improve performance where required. You will also actively look to minimise the risk of fraudulent activities which have an impact on Company performance, whilst developing positive relationships with Operations, with particular focus on the Area Manager population.

 

Working in a mobile role, you’ll be part of the Northern OPM team, supporting approx. 57 sites, supporting 4 Retail Business Managers and will predominately be located across the East & West Midlands. This role will be offered on a 6-month secondment basis.

What will I be doing as an Operational Practice Manager…?

  • Providing Stock and cash management support to our GMs and Frontline Teams.
  • Spending time across your district supporting the effective use of our key internal systems including SWS, Zonal & Teamplan through 1:1 coaching and training whilst on site.
  • Working in partnership with Area Manager's to proactively improve GM performance in the areas of, stock, cash, energy, and labour productivity by carrying out regular and varied styles of visits including, announced, unannounced support and coaching visits in businesses, timing and frequency determined by the risk profile.
  • Delivering group training sessions at districts meetings and workshops on stock & cash controls and their subsequent performance, as well as the use of our systems.
  • Coaching the GM and their team to improve performance and ensuring action plans devised by the GM/KM on the day of visit have all SMART measures in place whilst producing a detailed report of their findings from the visit on the day.

  • Effective coaching skills supported by a desire to educate and develop.
  • Strong analytical skills and good attention to detail.
  • Clear & confident interpersonal skills, particularly in handling difficult situations.
  • Confidence to deal with people of different levels and abilities, both internal and external to M&B.
  • Can demonstrate courage & conviction in the face of challenge.
  • Ability to prioritise workload using own initiative and judgement within overall objectives & strategy.
  • A good level of understanding of; cash & stock controls, labour systems, SWS and energy efficiency.
  • A positive and can-do approach to managing business change.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
