We have a fantastic opportunity for a Digital Data Analyst to join us on a permanent basis, where you will play a key role in supporting brands and Mitchells and Butlers as a whole in achieving its commercial goals and objectives in a time of exciting and rapid change, where digital data is central to our growth strategy.

 

In this varied and challenging role, you will support the brands and overall MAB portfolio in achieving its commercial goals and objectives. Alongside this, you will be supporting the Data Analytics Manager in delivering the Data Analytics strategy by generating key insights, monitoring performance and effectiveness of our digital activity, enabling optimisation and driving further efficiencies.

 

You will also work closely with the Customer Marketing Team and Brand Marketing Managers to provide reporting, customer analytics and insight, and also provide support in the management of the customer data warehouse in addition to any new upcoming projects which transform our data landscape.

 

As Digital Data Analyst, you will report into our Data & Analytics Manager in an Office Flexible role, being based at our vibrant head office in Birmingham City Centre. Joining a focused and innovative wider Operational CRM Digital Marketing team, working at the home of hospitality (our head office), you may not be serving our guests, but your support will put smiles on our guests and teams faces. The Opportunity – Digital Data Analyst

  • Your role and responsibilities will be challenging and varied, including the following: -
  • Creating actionable insights to support strategic decisions for customer engagement strategies and distribute in a variety of formats.
  • Develop, maintain and improve customer dashboards which track performance of all digital marketing channels and programmes.
  • Confident in presenting data and being able to tell the story in a way that is easy to understand.
  • Supporting in the development of new reporting solutions in addition to delivery and enhancement of existing regular reporting.
  • Help to build segmentation models which inform segmentation and personalisation, delivered through our email and mobile platforms.
  • Develop a technical understanding of data flows and technology systems in place.
  • Understanding of data protection including GDPR and PECR to ensure compliant processing of data.
  • Support in optimising campaign engagement, data selections, maintaining & monitoring existing customer segments and profiles to help enhance all digital strategies.
  • Conduct analysis of multi-channel data sources to build a greater understanding of customers and identify marketing opportunities.
  • Support ongoing data warehouse tasks, issue investigation and resolution.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop projects data from a variety of sources to measure business results and inform programmed development.
  • Work with the Data Analytics Manager to maintain day-today relationship with external agencies.

 

Just like our brands, our teams are diverse. What we’d like to see from you: -

  • Strategic and analytical thinker with strong consumer insight skills.
  • Highly numerate and enjoys keeping up with latest digital/data innovation trends. 
  • Advanced SQL querying skills (T-SQL) to extract, manipulate and model data.
  • Able to create and modify SQL stored procedures.
  • Data warehousing knowledge with the ability to grasp complex relational models.
  • Business intelligence and dashboard experience using Power BI (or Tableau, Qlikview, Cognos BI, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Python/R for automation or data analytics desirable.
  • Advanced user of Excel with the ability to write complex formula’s.
  • Experience of propensity/segmentation modelling desirable.
  • Experience working with digital marketing desirable.
  • Good communicator with the ability to support on complex projects with many stakeholders. 

Qualifications:

  • Degree level or equivalent with a relevant numerical/analytical degree
