Department Manager Description

PURPOSE: To ensure the Department Manager clearly understands their responsibilities and accountabilities.

REQUIREMENTS: Completions of Shift Supervisor MAPs, LT Certified, NJ Serve Safe/NY Food Handlers Certification.

Under this description, the Department Manager:

     -Support the delegation of the responsibilities received by the restaurant manager in ways which ensure excelled Operational excellence.

     -Assists with personnel selection, training, scheduling, and supervising activities in compliance with all federal and state laws and with the standards of McDonald’s to develop a high degree of staff efficiency and teamwork.

    - Ensures that guests are served in a courteous, timely manner which results in their satisfaction and in an enhanced public image.

     -Maintains high food quality and attractive food appearance in accordance with McDonald’s specifications, which results in the achievement of sales and cost control objectives.

     -Assists in maintaining proper sanitation and cleanliness of the unit to fulfill health requirements and McDonald’s standards to enhance the dining atmosphere for guests.

     -Assists in ordering inventory on a timely basis to ensure an adequate supply, but not overstocked of products.

     -Assists in maintaining records including daily sales and cash analysis, daily volume and product purchase reports and other reports as requested.

     - Must strive to learn all operations of the unit.

    - Must learn and Operate thru our culture

    - They must want to develop themselves within our MAPS program. Be a leader in their own development.

Working Ability

     -Ability to lift 25lbs

    - Must be able to stand 75% of time while performing job duties

    - Must be computer proficient in Outlook, Excel, and Microsoft Word

     -Must be able to communicate to direct report and supporting members of team
